Find out what Gidget's been up to lately!
As I sit in my living room watching Gidge walk the floors, I’m trying to imagine what tomorrow will look like without her.
Last night she really fell apart. At the ripe old age of 16 her Vet and I have decided its time to help her make her way to the Rainbow Bridge… as they say.
He will be here tonight so she can be at home when she passes.
I’m going from crying to numb while trying to comfort my little creature.
Rather than just stare at her while she is pacing, drinking or sleeping….I’m reflecting
She’s like a timeline. Everything in my life will always be before Gidget, the days of Gidget and after Gidget.
It’s interesting that a little spoiled, star pooch from a pet store on the Upper West Side taught me about
the horrors of puppy mills and how important it is to use your resources to help pets in need.
Her little canine celebrity status help raise money for a number of charities. As a Melanoma survivor she was the dog of hope for “Tails of Hope” and was the canine
host of a number of pet charities including Friends of Snuffy. What this really means is… this little creature inspired me to do good things. She helped me become a better person.
I’ve had her since she was 9 weeks old and she’s been my mute little sounding board for 16 years. We’ve been though great family joy and tragedy, a number of boyfriends , one husband, apartments on both coasts, 2 houses and 3 cars. We cuddled in my NYC apartment on 9/11, and had wonderful holidays. She has been by my side for the ups and downs of my career. Her presence gave me emotional support during a couple tours of unemployment and paid some of the bills with her acting gigs. There are so many other big events and silly things that will always remind me of her. She’s a brat but she will always be my brat. I love her and will miss her.
I have no Idea what tomorrow will look like?

Many musicians love Phoenicia and come up frequently to vacation, jam, write, perform and help us with fundraising. For example, James Blunt, Sierra Swann, mini- Gene of mini-Kiss, the School of Rock, Vince Sherman, the Format, Ingrid Michaelson, Dana Fuchs, Justin Hawkins of The Darkness, Gabe Saporta of Cobra Starship and the Donnas have all made trips to Phoenicia and love its quirky vibe. Just another reason to vote for Phoenicia as the “Coolest Small Town in the USA” on Budget Travel!
Have you ever wondered if your pet could be a star? Well, now you can find out by coming to the Emerson Resort on May 30 from 3-7! Cathryn Long, talent agent to the 4 legged divas, will judge a Pet Talent Contest together with Linda Blick of Tails of Hope Foundation and Ted Gibson, celebrity hairstylist. There will also be a silent auction to benefit Ulster County SPCA AND a special Catamount Dog Park menu at the Catamount Restaurant. All this to celebrate the opening of the new dog park at the Emerson Resort and Spa . Come join Gidget in her special appearance at the dog park in celebration of the opening of the Sex and the City 2 movie that weekend (she has donated some of her film wardrobe to raise money for the SPCA) and enjoy the new “pup grade” amenities at the Emerson!
Our girl made the trailer to the upcoming “Sex and the City 2″ movie! And check out that cute white hat…word has it that Gidget had to try on a whole mess of those things in order to find just the right fit!
So the Sex and the City 2 script calls for a white top hat for Gidget. Given that our pup lives 2 hours north of the shooting location, fittings have to take place via FedEx. One day, a slew of paper hats arrive and Gidget has to pose and be photographed with each one so wardrobe can decide which proportion is the best. Then the same company that makes Jim Henson’s muppets will make a custom snow white silk top hat for Gidget to wear in a scene with Kim Cattrall (and thats all we’re revealing!)
Gidget and Mary are interviewed by Meredith Vieira for NBC’s Today Show and Cathryn Long from All Creatures Great & Small animal agency shares some tips on getting your pet into show business. Click here to see how to make your furry friend famous on the Today Show!
Here is Gidget waiting for her close-up on the set of SATC 2…this time she even has a ”doggy double” as sometimes these all night shoots are rough on her beauty sleep…more to follow!
What a magical day! Young fans converged on Belleayre Mountain to celebrate music and fun all for the good of animals in the community. Sponsored by Gidget Gormley’s favorite non-profit “Friends of Snuffy” the event sponsored all sorts of fun including face-painting, games, music by School of Rock and Uncle Rock and a musical woodland journey where kids encountered rock and roll legends (impersonated by actors) in a magical walk through the grounds of Belleayre! Click here to see amazing photos of that day by Franz Edlinger…
